Clinical Observation of the Korean Neurotic Patient¢¥s Chief Complaints


Abstract
The author observed the chief complaints of 1431 neurotic patients who visited our clinic from Jan. 1, 1970 to Dec. 31, 1971.
The summary of results are;
1) Headache is the most common pictures in both sex. Headache, insomnia, anxiety appeared more prominently in male than female, while chest discomfort, palpitation, hysterical convulsion more in female.
2) Flushing appeared in 5th or 6th decades.
3) In the group of higher educational & socioeconomic level headache, memory disturbance, anxiety, obsessions, insomnia, anorexia, indigestion and fatigue were prominent symptoms. In the other hand, in lower educational & lower socioeconomic states, chest discomfort, hysterical convulsion, hysterical sensory disturbance or paralysis more occured.
4) The paients who engaged in upper level management or professionals show higher incidence of insomnia.
